Frequently asked questions.
What is copywriting?
At its core, copywriting is about inspiring action from a reader (or potential client) to do something!
Usually, we think of this as a CTA to close a sale (as in, “BUY NOW”), but it can also be “sign up for my mailing list”, “leave a comment below to tell me if you prefer waffles or pancakes”, or “sign up for a free sample.”
How is copywriting different than content creation?
The main difference between copy and content is the CTA (call-to-action).
While content can provide value, it doesn’t have a CTA, which makes it less helpful to you as a small business owner trying to build a brand with a loyal and engaged audience (and let’s be real make sales).
Even if it’s a really small ask, like “double-tap this photo before you keep scrolling” or a medium-sized one like, “comment one thing you’re grateful for today” at the end of your Instagram caption, do it! It may feel silly at first, but asking people to engage with you (and them actually doing it) builds trust and likability.
Plus, most people won’t do something unless you ask them to.
Despite our desire for independence and believing we are purely rational beings, most of us are actually quite overwhelmed by decisions all the time.
If you’re already thinking about making a decision (like signing up for a free consultation), a little nudge can be just what you need.
Do I really need a blog? Does anyone even read those?
Believe it or not, blogging is not dead. Blogging is only increasing in 2021 and beyond as more companies add blogging to their marketing strategy.
Keyword-Focused Blogging (SEO) has been a proven driver of organic traffic to websites. Not only do companies with blogs average 67% more leads per month, but those leads tend to be higher quality and “hot”.
Consumers searching the keywords we’ll optimize in your blog posts are more likely to be ready to buy (or at least on the way there). And some research shows that consumers trust “organic” results to paid, but they won’t scroll past the 1st page of the Search Engine Results Page (SERP). In fact, Click through rates (CTR) are less than 1% on even page 2.
To build brand authority, generate more quality traffic to your website, and even increase revenue, you need an SEO-focused and regularly updated blog.
I’ve never worked with a freelancer before. Won’t it be difficult?
I think this depends.
Everyone has their own systems and ways of doing things. Most of the time, I think a freelancer is a great addition to the team (even if it’s a 1 person show) because you can hand off niche work to an expert and pay as needed rather than having an employee with a bigger workload, less expertise, and continuous pay.
Of course, there may be an adjustment period, but with good communication, patience, and mutual respect, working with a freelancer (like me!) can be very rewarding.
Do you offer social media management?
At this time, I don’t offer social media management, but I’ll be happy to (reasonably) coordinate with you or your social media manager as needed.
I may offer this service in the future if the demand arises.
Same goes for website design.
Can I text or call you if I have a question or issue?
If it’s not scheduled, I prefer an email to madeline@madelineroseagency.com. This allows me to organize clients trying to get in touch with me, so I don’t miss anyone.
I’ll do my best to respond within 48 hours.
If it’s an urgent matter, please say so in the subject line. I’ll get back to you as quickly as I can.
Why should I work with Madeline Rose Agency, LLC?
Hi, I’m Madeline, the founder and writer at Madeline Rose Agency, LLC. I’m a neuroscientist turned marketer with a passion for helping people live better lives with my words.
Since I was a child, I had the propensity for learning and talking about what it means to be human. And more importantly, trying to figure out how to have a good, pleasurable life.
And always wondering if that was even possible.
Over the last decade, I’ve found myself reading books, listening to podcasts, polling my Instagram followers, talking to friends, and even conducting an undergraduate research thesis project (that took me 3 years!) about sex, dating, relationships, women’s health, and mental health.
I started this company to leverage my professional background in marketing, academic background in neuroscience and psychology, and natural knack for using language to do what I really want to be doing: helping people have the sex, dating, and relationships that they want to be having by connecting them with business owners or practitioners like you!
While there are many excellent copywriters out there who will say what you want to your target audience in a really persuasive way, few will have the passion or insight on the information as me. That’s why I’ve chosen the name The Intimacy Copywriter™.
My dedication and love for this field shines through my copy and will connect with your audience in a way that can’t be replicated by someone who just loves marketing or sales.
Have any more questions? Great! I look forward to meeting you.
